Pickwick Restaurant and Oscars Continential Bistro

At the Allerdale Court Hotel we have two exceptional restaurants, Oscars and The Pickwick. Dining at The Allerdale Court is an important part of any guest's stay and it is not by chance that both of our two restaurants have earned fine reputations both locally and nationally. Both restaurants offer superb freshly cooked food, and plenty of it, served with smiling experience to your table.
 
The Pickwick is a silver service restaurant offering an extensive and imaginative menu to suit all tastes, including local specialities such as Lakeland pheasant and Cumbrian Fell-bred beef. Oscars, by way of contrast, is a continental style bistro with a more informal atmosphere. With its Latin theme, Oscar's is a busy and fashionable venue where you'll find a mouth-watering choice of grills, steaks, pasta dishes, pizzas, fish and specialities – ideal for a memorable night out.

So whether you fancy a full 3 course dinner or maybe something a bit lighter, there's bound to be something for you! Whichever restaurant you choose, you can be sure that your food will be freshly prepared and cooked, using locally sourced ingredients and seasonal produce wherever we possibly can. And all our suppliers have assured us that to the best of their knowledge all food they supply to us is free from genetically modified ingredients.
 
To complement both restaurants we stock an excellent range of fine wines from around the world, personally selected by your hosts, together with a good choice of spirits and local real ales. Our cosy bar, with its original oak beams and open fire, is an ideal place for a pre-dinner drink in a relaxing atmosphere.

Sunday lunch

A traditional 3-course luncheon is served every Sunday between 12.00 and 2.00pm in The Pickwick Restaurant. There are vegetarian options and children's portions are also available.
 
The Pickwick Restaurant is available for private hire, whatever the occasion. If you're planning a Wedding, Christening, Birthday or Anniversary celebration, please ask for details of our special packages. For corporate customers the Allerdale Court is an excellent venue to hold your company dinner or event.

Our Chefs

Michael Cork - Head Chef at Oscar's Continental Bistro for the past 4 years. Michael has worked in London hotels, restaurants and hospitality suites for City Banks. He has also gained a fine reputation for his work at a number of local hotels. Michael sources as much as possible from local suppliers.
 
Stuart Benthwaite - Second Chef at Oscar's Continental Bistro. Born and bred in Maryport, Stuart completed 2 years at West Cumbria College and worked in Spain and various local hotels in the West Cumbria, Western Lakes area.
 
Noel Thompson - Head Chef at Pickwicks Restaurant has been a chef for over 40 years and has been at the Allerdale Court for 27 years. Previously Noel had worked at various restaurants in Lancaster, Kendal and Windermere.

Meal times

Breakfast is a relaxed affair, with a choice of a full traditional Lakeland cooked breakfast, or continental style with freshly baked bread and croissants.

7.00 am to 9.30 am Monday to Friday
8.00 am to 9.30 am Saturday and Sunday
 
Dinner is served:
5.30pm to 10.00pm Monday to Sunday
